Late that Summer Day
Lyrics

It was late that summer day, the day you walked away,
I watched you walk away, late on that summer day I watched you,
And as I waited for you to look back at me,
I watched you disappear, but you never glance back,
And somehow I just knew that we'd never meet again,
but I could not shed a tear,
In case you glanced back.

It was late that autumn day, the day you caught me eye,
You caught my eye in that late autumn,
It was late that autumn day, so very long ago,
It seems so long ago late on that autumn day you caught me,
Yet as I waited to even just talk to you,
And autumn passed me by, to find winter in its place,
When I finally talked to you, it was already too late,
For you were just moving on, far away from this place,

And I know you had to go, you need you space to grow,
But can't you tell me please, is there no place for me?

It was morn that summer day, the day I wrote this song,
The song about the us that never was,
On that cool summer morn, the morn I thought of you,
I thought of you that morn and needed to just leave you in the past,
When I watched you just vanished without a glance,
Never looking back on those lost autumn days,
Or the ones we might have had, but we'll never meet again,
And now on this summer night, I will leave you in the past.
